Furthermore, the rounded seven-blade diaphragm aids in producing a desirable bokeh effect when utilizing selective focus methods.

The autofocus system is enhanced by two linear motors, providing rapid and precise performance, as well as effective subject tracking for capturing fast-moving objects. This autofocus mechanism operates with minimal noise, making it particularly suitable for cinematic applications. Additionally, the internal focusing design contributes to a more compact lens length, resulting in quicker and more responsive focusing capabilities.

The manual focus control with linear response provides a more intuitive handling experience, complemented by an AF MF switch conveniently positioned on the lens barrel for easy tactile adjustment. Additionally, the lens barrel features customizable focus hold buttons, allowing for intuitive tactile control and quick access to preferred settings. This lens also demonstrates remarkable close-up capabilities, with a minimum focusing distance of 12.2 inches in manual focus mode (13.8 inches in autofocus mode), achieving a maximum magnification of 0.21x.

Compact Design

The physical aperture ring can be modified to allow for seamless and silent adjustments, which is advantageous for video production. The lens has a diameter of 1.8 inches and a weight of 6.2 ounces, rendering it an excellent portable option compatible with both full-frame and APS-C camera bodies. Its dust- and moisture-resistant construction enhances its usability in adverse weather conditions. Additionally, the front element features a fluorine coating that facilitates cleaning and offers resistance to dust, moisture, and fingerprints.
